EuroLeague closed the year with two games, and the first of those two was won by Olympiacos, defeating Alba Berlin with a score of 94-67.
Olympiacos quickly scored through Kostas Papanikolaou. Justin Bean made the first three-pointer for the home team. Then, the Greek player hit another three-pointer, and Alba Berlin scored twice in a row from the paint. Bean hit another three-pointer, and then Walkup recorded the first points for a 10-10 tie. Johannes Thiemann made a three-pointer for 15-14, and after a beautiful play, Alec Peters scored his first points. After Malte Delow’s three-pointer, Peters responded. Alba was on fire, making three-pointers, and after the first ten minutes, the score was 25-19 for the hosts.
Sterling Brown continued to score, while Olympiacos struggled in the offense at the beginning of the second quarter. Nigel Williams-Goss made the first points from the field, and after the eighth made three-pointer, Tim Mattiseck scored another three-pointer. Nikola Milutinov made the first points for Olympiacos. Then, the Olympiacos team tightened their defense, and Williams-Goss scored four quick points. The Piraeus team made a great comeback into the game, reducing the deficit to 36-33, but Alba had an answer. However, Larentzakis and Williams-Goss made two consecutive three-pointers, bringing the deficit to just one point. At halftime, the score was still 43-40 for the hosts.
