The president of the basketball club Partizan, Ostoja Mijailovic, spoke about the decisive match for the fate of the black and whites, regarding the EuroLeague.
Ostoja Mijailovic addressed the game between Anadolu Efes and Crvena Zvezda. Only in the case of a win for the red and whites, Partizan will have a chance to secure a play-in spot against Valencia on their home court.
“Yes, that situation is attractive for the media, but the reality is different. They will play that game for themselves, at the end of a season in which they spent most of the time in the lower part of the table. I think they are primarily focused on themselves and analyzing the season in which they signed 13, 14 new players and had two coaches… That game means a lot to Anadolu Efes, not so much to Crvena Zvezda, and lately, their form has been weaker than at the beginning of the season,” Mijailovic began his analysis for Informer.
Then he further clarified his position.
“So, I don’t know how realistic it is to expect them to be competitive in Istanbul. As I said, they will play that game for themselves, not for us. I don’t see any reason to thank anyone for any result. On the other hand, our obligation to the fans and to ourselves is to play against Valencia at our maximum and win,” emphasized Mijailovic.
The game between Anadolu Efes and Crvena Zvezda is scheduled for Thursday, while a day later, Partizan will face Valencia at the Stark Arena.
