Ostoja Mijailovic, the president of Partizan, has extended an invitation to Maccabi Tel Aviv, who are currently facing a difficult situation.
Partizan has offered all conditions to ‘Pride of Israel’ in case Maccabi Tel Aviv needs to play their matches outside their country. We remind you that Israel is in a state of war, and all sports events in the country have been postponed. Clubs have allowed foreigners to leave the country.
Ostoja Mijailovic, the head of the Partizan, issued an open letter, which we present in its entirety without any editorial changes:
Dear Mr. Mizrahi, dear friends of Partizan and Serbia,
In these sad moments, on behalf of Partizan, I want to express my deepest condolences to you and your people.
During these difficult times, I want to convey that Maccabi has a sincere friend in Serbia who is ready to offer it a new temporary home with a warm welcome in Belgrade.
Despite all the events, athletes must continue their activities and represent their club and country in the best possible way. Their role is to be a beacon of light in dark days for their people.
If your club is forced to play matches outside your country, Partizan is ready to provide a training facility, accommodation, and a court for the matches.
Over the past 40 years, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Partizan have been great rivals on the field, but all our duels have always ended with congratulations and a sincere handshake, with great respect.
Unfortunately, throughout history, Partizan has experienced situations when we were forced to play away from our home. Due to all of the above, as a gesture of friendship and gratitude for all the great moments in our shared history, we are ready to be your hosts.
The friendship between our peoples is profound, and we, as a club, consider this move as natural.
Feel free to contact us at any time, and we will do everything we can to assist Maccabi Tel Aviv.
