Pablo Laso, a two-time EuroLeague champion and coach of Bayern, was a guest on the EuroLeague Masteminds show, where he discussed various topics.
Bayern didn’t have an ideal season in terms of the EuroLeague, finishing only in 15th place. However, this is just the first season of the double Euroleague title winner at Bayern, so better results are certainly expected in the coming seasons.
“First, you have to have the ball, and to achieve that, you have to play good defense, that’s the key. Usually, the highest percentage of getting the ball back into your possession is from defensive rebounds. You can also have some steals, but they usually end up as fast breaks. So, it’s important to create a transition offense after conceding points or after a defensive rebound,” said Pablo Laso.
Recall that before Bayern, Laso coached Real Madrid for a remarkable 11 years, during which he won the EuroLeague twice and was a six-time champion of Spain.
