Pablo Laso, the head coach of Bayern, shared his expectations ahead of the EuroLeague Round 34 game against Monaco.
Bayern, with a string of poor results, has missed out on a spot in the play-in, so this game will have no significance for them. On the other hand, Monaco is fighting for a place among the top four teams in the EuroLeague, and a win in this game would guarantee it for them.
“Monaco has been able to invest a lot in players in recent years, and now they are a dominant team in the EuroLeague, with one of the best players of all time, Mike James. Their team is very well-rounded, with many offensive weapons and very athletic. They are one of the teams, in my opinion, that can win the EuroLeague. It will be very difficult, especially since they lost in the league over the weekend.
Every game is important for us, including this one, even though we no longer have a chance at the play-ins. But every game is an opportunity to build something new, to improve, and maybe even to bring back someone like Devin Booker, who was out for a few weeks. For us, it’s like starting a new season, and now we want to try to stay in first place in the Bundesliga,” said Pablo Laso.
The game between Bayern and Monaco is scheduled for Thursday, starting at 7:00 PM.
