Pablo Laso, the coach of Bayern Munich, spoke after the 10th round EuroLeague match in which his team played as guests in Villerubanne.
In an exceptionally exciting game, Bayern emerged victorious after two overtimes by 101:100, securing their fourth win.
“It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t easy. I tried to learn a lesson from my side. I think we played a good game in all aspects, but we made a lot of mistakes, and they, being a good team, capitalized on those mistakes. Nevertheless, my team has heart, we kept fighting and fighting,” said Pablo Laso and continued:
“It wasn’t our best night, but we were there until the end. As my assistant said, ‘We’ve won three times and lost twice.’ In the end, it’s the victory that matters most. We have a tough schedule; we know how difficult it is to win on the road against this team. We succeeded. I’m happy for the guys, they did a great job, and I congratulate them for sticking together.”
Character and team spirit may have been decisive.
“That’s right. We fought until the end. We also had a player injured during the game. Despite all the setbacks, we kept fighting, believed in the victory, and that’s why I’m proud of my guys.”
In the 11th round, Bayern hosts Virtus.
