Panathinaikos has prepared a contract until 2027 for Marius Grigonis, according to well-informed BasketNews.
The Lithuanian reportedly agreed to continue his collaboration with the Athens giant, and the official announcement could come in the next few days. The mentioned three-year contract would be guaranteed, so Marius Grigonis would have no reason to worry until the summer of 2027.
The initial news about the signing of the new contract was reported by the Lithuanian portal 15min.
If Grigonis stays with the club until the end of the contract, he will become the Lithuanian basketball player with the longest tenure in the “greens,” surpassing the legendary Sarunas Jasikevicius (2007-2010, 2012/2013).
The Lithuanian arrived at Panathinaikos last season and is one of the few who “survived” the cleanup upon Ergin Ataman’s arrival as coach. In the current season, he is one of the most consistent players for the “greens” with an average of 10.1 points in the EuroLeague.
