Panathinaikos remained undefeated in the Greek Basket League. Ergin Ataman’s team defeated Peristeri with a comeback in the 13th round, securing a 90-75 win.
Throughout most of the first quarter, the teams were evenly matched. In the closing moments of the first period, the home team gained a six-point advantage. By the end of the first half, Peristeri found an excellent rhythm, turning the game around and heading into halftime with a three-point lead.
At the beginning of the second half, the visitors built a seven-point lead. They maintained the lead until the closing moments of the third quarter when Panathinaikos made an 8-0 run, taking a four-point lead. In the final ten minutes, the quality of Ataman’s team shone through, leading to a routine win for the Greek runner-up.
Jerian Grant led his team to win with 26 points, while on the other side, Joe Ragland and Jermaine Love each contributed 14 points. Nemanja Dangubic finished the game with six points. It’s worth noting that the home team played this game without Kostas Sloukas. Unfortunately, what’s not good for Ataman’s team is the injury to Luca Vildoza, who left the game in the first half due to a knee injury.
After 13 rounds, Ataman’s team remains the only undefeated one and will face Lavrio in the next round. Peristeri, with seven wins and six losses, will host PAOK in the upcoming round.
