Panathinaikos secured their first away victory of the season in the seventh round of the EuroLeague by defeating Alba Berlin – 99:85.
Panathinaikos played slightly better in the first quarter than their opponents, and the main contributors to the team’s lead from Athens were Dinos Mitoglou and Marius Grigonis. On the other side, Gabriele Procida showed some good sequences, contributing to Alba Berlin trailing by only one point after 10 minutes of play – 27:26.
The second quarter was marked by an outstanding performance from Luca Vildoza, who made an impressive four three-pointers. Panathinaikos concluded the first half with a total of 60 points, holding a 13-point lead over their opponents – 60:47.
Alba Berlin displayed a slightly better performance in the third quarter, closing the gap on the scoreboard. However, Panathinaikos managed to finish the quarter strongly, extending their lead to 12 points – 82:70.
With a 9:2 run in the fourth quarter, Panathinaikos settled the question of the winner, securing a crucial advantage that led them to victory.
The most prolific scorer for the visitors was Mitoglou with 22 points, while Grigonis contributed 16. The latest addition to the Athenians, Kendrick Nunn, didn’t shine in his debut, recording 6 points with a 0/5 shooting performance from three-point range.
For Alba, Sterling Brown led with 17 points, and Johannes Thiemann added 16.
In the next round, Alba will host Asvel, while Panathinaikos will face Zalgiris.
