At the start of the second half, Studentski centar showed a much better approach and reaction, bringing them within 12 points after a 9-0 run. Because of this, coach Zeljko Obradovic called a timeout. Partizan regained control after Zach LeDay and Bruno Caboclo returned to the court, but we witnessed a much slower pace than in the opening part of the game.
With a little over three minutes left in the third quarter, Ognjen Jaramaz got injured and was taken off the court. Until the end of the game, it was not clear what happened and the nature of the injury. Just a few moments later, Alen Smailagic also left the game due to a head injury. Namely, during a dribble drive, Aubrey Dawkins accidentally hit him with his elbow, resulting in the Serbian player on the floor. Heading into the decisive ten minutes, Partizan led 73:60.
For the first time since the start of the game, Studentski centar reduced the deficit to single digits with a 4:0 run at the beginning of the final period. Despite the more aggressive play by the visiting team, the black-and-white team found a way to extend their lead. Through Caboclo, they reached a 79:66 advantage. Alen Smailagic returned to the court, scoring five consecutive points. When Partizan took a commanding 84:69 lead, it was crystal clear who would secure the triumph, if there was ever any doubt after the first half.
The top scorer for the winning team was Zach LeDay with 19 points, while Alen Smailagic contributed 18 points in just 12 minutes on the court. Bruno Caboclo finished with 13 points. Mateo Dreznjak stood out for Studentski centar with 13 points, while Aubrey Dawkins and Kenan Kamenjas each scored 11.
In the next round of the regional competition, Partizan will host Buducnost, and Studentski centar will face Crvena Zvezda at home.
