Partizan attempted a more aggressive approach at the beginning of the third quarter to shake the opponent’s confidence, but it turned out to be counterproductive. The new three-pointers made by Split’s players increased the away team’s lead, reaching a 20-point advantage at one point (55:35). The black and white team, with good play from Bruno Caboclo, managed to reduce the deficit to 12 points, but heading into the decisive final ten minutes, they were still trailing 59:45.
James Nunnally and Ognjen Jaramaz at the start of the fourth quarter narrowed the gap to a single-digit difference (61:52), but Split responded with a 6:0 run for a new 15-point advantage four minutes before the end. When Toni Perkovic hit another three-pointer for a plus 16, it was already clear that Split would leave Belgrade with a full bounty, as indeed happened in the end. Frank Kaminsky and Danilo Andjusic managed to reduce the deficit, but they couldn’t do more than that.
It’s worth mentioning that Partizan was unrecognizable in three-point shooting, being accurate only three times out of 28 attempts. This marks the fourth consecutive defeat for the black and white team, counting all competitions, including losses against Crvena Zvezda, Monaco, and Virtus.
