Mateusz Ponitka, the Polish basketball player who has been dealing with a shoulder injury for some time, could soon be back on the court.
Ponitka has started practicing with the team, with his most recent session taking place on Tuesday, as reported by “Sportski zurnal“.
While he’s still following his own training pace and hasn’t completed a full practice with the team, it’s a positive sign that he is recovering and gradually returning to the training process.
Ponitka suffered a shoulder injury during a preseason game against Fuenlabrada in Belgrade. He missed the final stages of the preseason due to the injury but started the season. However, severe pain prevented him from raising his arm on the day of the game against Barcelona in the second round of the EuroLeague, forcing Ponitka to take a break.
Now, there are signs of improvement. Mateusz Ponitka has been working diligently in the gym for some time to regain muscle mass, particularly in the shoulder, which had been in strict rest for the past few weeks. As a result, he was absent from games against Barcelona, Olympiacos, Baskonia, the match against Mega, as well as two Belgrade derbies and the game against Split in the ABA League.
Partizan is set to host Fenerbahce in the seventh round of the EuroLeague on Thursday, and it remains to be seen if Ponitka will be available for this match.
