Paul George and the Los Angeles Clippers will not extend their cooperation, so the multiple All-Star will soon sign for a new team.
George has already informed his current team that he has chosen to go to another place, which should become official very soon.
“We changed a lot to match Paul and Kawhi Leonard and we were competitive for five seasons. Although we didn’t reach our ultimate goal, we are grateful for the chance we had with Paul,” the Clippers stated.
According to ESPN, George should meet with the Philadelphia 76ers, and they are currently the only ones in the running for him, so they have the best chances.
The same source writes that the parting with the Los Angeles Clippers was due to a significant difference in how they see the contract extension. George was available to sign for $221 million over four years and optimism grew when Kawhi signed a three-year, $150 million deal. However, no agreement was reached, but the 34-year-old wing basketball player is able to agree with another team for $212 million over four years in the NBA.
At the same time, the Los Angeles Clippers signed James Harden and extended cooperation with him for another two years, which will cost them 70 million dollars.
