Pedro Martinez is the new head coach of Valencia, returning to the team after seven years and signing a two-season contract.
Last season, Valencia started with Alex Mumbru as head coach, with Xabi Albert taking over later. The team failed to qualify for the EuroLeague playoffs and were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Endesa League.
Pedro Martinez led Valencia to the Spanish championship in 2017, and that same year, the team reached the EuroCup finals, where they were defeated by Unicaja. He returned to Valencia after spending five years with Manresa.
Martinez has also coached Baskonia, Gran Canaria, Girona, Cajasol, and Estudiantes.
It’s currently unknown whether Valencia will compete in the EuroLeague next season.
