Sasha Vezenkov will soon come back to Olympiacos, as the Bulgarian player is set to be waived by the Toronto Raptors.
According to the latest information, the Bulgarian basketball player will return to the red and white part of Athens. This news was reported by “Backdoor podcast“. Allegedly, he also rejected a very lucrative offer from Panathinaikos, and it was no secret that the Greens were in negotiations with him. Ergin Ataman himself confirmed this. He was also traded to the Toronto Raptors last night.
The Bulgarian, who started his career in Greece, did not make a significant impact last year in the Sacramento Kings’ jersey. During the regular season, he played in 42 games (none as a starter) and averaged 12.2 minutes per game, with 5.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.5 assists.
Sasha Vezenkov spent five years in the red-and-white jersey. The highlight came in 2023 when he won the regular season MVP award. He played in two Final Fours, while being in one final, which Olympiacos lost against Real Madrid.
The Greek giant has so far parted ways only with Isaiah Canaan, who has joined Crvena Zvezda. Additionally, Georgios Bartzokas has extended his contract until 2026, and it is expected that Tyler Dorsey will return to the team.
