Svetislav Pesic, the coach of Serbia, has determined the 14 players he is counting on for the matches against Greece and Italy at the tournament in Athens.
Serbia continues preparations for the World Cup. After the closed matches against BiH and Poland in Belgrade, there is a trip to Athens for a tournament where Serbia will play against Greece on August 8th, and a day later the opponent will be Italy.
There were 14 names on the passenger list: Stefan Jovic, Aleksa Avramovic, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Nemanja Nedovic, Marko Guduric, Vanja Marinkovic, Aleksa Radanov, Ognjen Dobric, Dejan Davidovac, Filip Petrusev, Nikola Jovic, Dusan Ristic, Nikola Milutinov, Borisa Simanic.
Alen Smailagic, Uros Trifunovic, Dusan Beslac and Nikola Topic remained in Belgrade. The Partizan duo is still undergoing therapy due to injuries and a virus, Beslac got married at the weekend and was spared, while Topic is resting after winning the gold medal for players under 18.
After returning from Athens, Pesic and his team will welcome one of its rivals from the group at the World Cup – Puerto Rico – to Stark Arena. After this duel, the national team will move to China, where they will have two final tests against the selection of Aleksandar Djordjevic (August 20) and Brazil (August 21).
Serbia is in group B with South Sudan, China and Puerto Rico.
