Petar Bozic has been officially announced as the coach of the London Lions. After first practice with the team, didn’t hide his excitement.
With coach Bozic at the helm, the Lions are setting their goals and expectations high for the upcoming British Basketball League and EuroCup campaigns.
Coach Bozic joins the Lions after spending the last six years with the San Antonio Spurs organisation. Four year as assistant coach (2017-2021) and two as a head coach (2021-2023) of the Austin Spurs in the G-League. He won a title with this team in G-League (2018).
“I am extremely excited to finally be in London. I know it was quite journey in the past week. But I am here now and i am pleased to meet all this people in person and looking forward for the next challenge. We are going to give our best, we are going to fight on the court and hope they are going to recognise that and we can share some energy during the game.” told head coach Bozic
Prior to his stint in the NBA G-League, Petar Bozic served as head coach of Partizan Belgrade. In his home country of Serbia during the 2015-2016 season, and as an assistant coach from 2013-2015 helping them win the Serbian League Championship in 2014.
Bozicβs 16-year playing career included 8 seasons (2004-2012) and 471 games played with Partizan where he won 18 titles. Logging 122 Euroleague appearances and a Euroleague Final 4 appearance (2010) as the teamβs long-time captain.
