Petar Mijovic, the coach of Podgorica’s Buducnost, emphasized that the match against Aris in “Moraca” in the sixth round of the EuroCup is of exceptional importance.
For the first time this season, the players of Budućnost suffered two consecutive defeats (against Bourg and Crvena Zvezda), but there is no time for in-depth analysis. The “Blues” urgently need a win, and this is well understood within the ranks of the Montenegrin champions.
In the context of the 6th round of the EuroCup, Aris from Thessaloniki is coming to ‘Moraca’ on Wednesday, a club that, like Buducnost, has a record of 2-3 in Group B.
We have a very important match ahead of us, and that’s why I would like to invite the fans to come in as large numbers as possible and help us because, until this moment this season, we haven’t played a more important game,” said the coach of the ‘Blues,’ Petar Mijovic.
Buducnost has suffered all three of its European losses this season away from home, while Aris secured one of its victories away from their home court against Slonsk in Wrocław.
The club from Thessaloniki also defeated last year’s EuroCup finalist, Turk Telekom. Therefore, even though Budućnost is the favorite on their home court, it’s clear how cautious Mijovic’s players must be.
“We can’t afford any mistakes in the EuroCup, especially not at home, and we are facing a team that plays a tough and low-scoring style of basketball,” coach Petar Mijovic stated in an interview for the club’s website.
