Peyton Watson, the young guard of the Denver Nuggets, spoke about his relationship with Serbian center and NBA champion Nikola Jokic.
The young player highlights that the two-time MVP of the NBA has been very helpful to him and that he received one piece of advice from Jokić that he will never forget.
“I will never forget what he told me. It’s something that will be with me forever. He told me very openly, ‘You will have to do things that no one else wants to do.’ And this advice came from one of the best players to ever touch a basketball,” said the former UCLA student.
Watson continued to speak with great admiration for the Serbian center, emphasizing that Jokic is one of the hardest workers. He also shared his goals not just for this year but for his career.
“He took me under his wing. He wants the best for me and knows that I will have a big role this year. I watch everything he does. He does everything right every day. He doesn’t make any compromises. I really observe all these things because I want to reach that level one day. I feel like I can become an All-NBA player one day,” concluded Peyton Watson.
