Puerto Rico has announced the 12 players who will compete in San Juan from July 2nd to 7th to qualify for the Olympic Games.
Marcus Howard, possibly the best shooter in the entire EuroLeague, is not on the roster and will miss this tournament due to the birth of his child. However, on the roster, his brother Jordan Howard is included.
The roster includes:
Tremont Waters, Jordan Howard, Jose Alvarado, Gian Clavell, Steven Thompson, Isaiah Pineiro, Devon Reed, Aleem Ford, Chris Ortiz, Ismael Romero, Arnaldo Toro, and George Conditt.
Puerto Rico will compete in Group B of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament against Italy and Bahrain, while Group A consists of Lithuania, Mexico, and Ivory Coast.
Puerto Rico played in the World Cup last year but was eliminated in the second round, finishing last in their group.
