The “Royal Club” secured win in just under eight minutes of play when the score on the scoreboard was 28-7 in favor of the home team. By the end of the first quarter, the lead was 19 points for the home team, and it extended to an insurmountable 27 points by halftime (52-25).
In the second half, Chus Mateo’s team eased off the gas, allowing Palencia to perform somewhat better during the third period (67-43). The fourth quarter was played in a complete “blowout” mode, leaving only the question of what the final score would be.
The top scorer for Real Madrid was Mario Hezonja with 16 points, while Vitor Benite stood out for Palencia with 13 points.
Real Madrid remains the leader in the Liga Endesa standings with a perfect record of 7-0, while Palencia is stuck at the bottom with just one win and six losses.
In the next round, Madrid will be on the road to face Granada, while Palencia will compete against Girona.
It’s worth noting that in an earlier game, Manresa defeated Granada 90-84.
Brandon Taylor led the home team to victory with 22 points, while Cristiano Felicio stood out for Granada with 20 points.
Manresa is now close to the playoff zone with a 4-3 record, while Granada is just above the relegation zone with only one win (1-6).
