Real Madrid defeated Murcia on the road by 84:73, claiming the Liga Endesa title with a 3-0 win in the finals.
After the previous game, everything centered around Rudy Fernandez, for whom this finals series marks a farewell to club basketball. After his appearances for the Spanish national team, he will retire. Murcia put up a good fight in Game 2, and they started Game 3 fantastically well.
At the outset, Rodions Kurucs and Dzanan Musa engaged in a personal duel, but Real Madrid took an early 9:5 lead. Dylan Ennis played well and kept Murcia ahead with strong support from the home fans, leading 19:17 at the end of the first quarter.
Murcia continued their excellent performance into the second quarter, extending their lead after a 9:4 run. As time passed, they capitalized on every opportunity while Real Madrid struggled to find their three-point shot, allowing Murcia to establish a double-digit lead, leading 40:32 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Real Madrid hit an impressive nine out of their first ten field goal attempts. With four three-pointers, including shots from Mario Hezonja and Musa, they completely turned the game in their favor, leading 66:56 going into the final quarter. The third quarter belonged to the visitors by 34:16 in their favor.
Murcia managed to narrow the deficit to five points midway through the final period, but then Mario Hezonja, paired with Dzanan Musa, took control with 13 additional points for Real Madrid. This proved more than enough to secure victory in the end, earning them a consolation prize after their loss in the EuroLeague final.
Dzanan Musa led the way with 18 points, closely followed by Mario Hezonja with 17 points, contributing significantly to Real Madrid’s triumph. Dylan Ennis stood out for the losing team with 18 points.
This marks Real Madrid’s 15th Liga Endesa title in the club’s history, closing in on Barcelona, who have won Liga Endesa title 17 times.
