Real Madrid secured their 12th win of the season with an outstanding second half, defeating Panathinaikos on the road by 90:78.
Real Madrid had a better start to the game, taking an early lead of 7:2. Panathinaikos turned the game around and gained a four-point advantage. Towards the end of the first quarter, the visiting team played better, and after ten minutes of play, Real Madrid had a one-point lead.
At the beginning of the second quarter, the guests performed better, establishing a nine-point lead. With a 14-0 run, the Greek champions made a comeback and took a 40:35 lead. Towards the end of the first half, Real Madrid played better again. With points from Facundo Campazzo, the Spanish team went into halftime with a lead of 46:45.
At the beginning of the second half, Panathinaikos played better and held a three-point lead. However, an incredible run by Real Madrid followed when, at a score of 51:48 in favor of the home team, the visitors unleashed a remarkable 24-4 series, establishing a 17-point lead by the end of the third quarter.
Despite the significant deficit, the home team didn’t give up and tried to make a comeback. However, Real Madrid maintained complete control over the game and comfortably finished the job.
Mario Hezonja led his team to win with 19 points, while Dzanan Musa added 14. On the other side, Kendrick Nunn scored 24 points.
