Quincy Miller has remained in good memory for Crvena Zvezda fans and alongside Nigel Hayes-Davis he is a record holder in the EuroLeague.
Namely, Lithuanian journalist Darius Garuolis researched data indicating individuals who reached double-digit scoring figures the fastest at the beginning of a game. The player from Fenerbahce ranks first and third, while the second fastest is Quincy Miller.
Nigel Hayes-Davis in first and third positions
Nigel Hayes-Davis reached double-digit scoring against Berlin’s Alba after just 80 seconds, placing him convincingly in first. In that game, he also set a new EuroLeague record by scoring 50 points overall. That game will forever remain in the historical books of the competition, as well as in the fond memories of the American basketball player.
While playing for Zalgiris in the 2019/2020 season, he reached double-digit scoring in just 156 seconds, which is the third fastest time interval.
Wearing Quincy Miller’s jersey
Quincy Miller wore the red and white colors during the 2015/2016 season. He arrived from the United States. He played 52 games for the Denver Nuggets during the 2013/2014 season, but due to a serious knee injury, he struggled to find his form for a long time. He was part of the Detroit Pistons and Sacramento Kings, but when that didn’t bear fruit, he decided to move to the Old Continent.
No one knew what to expect, but the American basketball player made sure to leave a lasting impression on Red Star fans. Countless times, he electrified the arena with spectacular dunks and three-pointers, along with his distinctive celebration “ala LeBron James“.
He scored over 20 points on ten occasions as a player for the team from Mali Kalemegdan. However, one particular game stands out, where he found himself on the records list against Strasbourg in 2015 during the sixth round of the EuroLeague. Crvena Zvezda led 11:6, and all the points until that moment were scored by Quincy Miller himself. It remains a regret that the red and white team ended up losing that match with a final score of 78:75.
In that very game, he achieved the highest efficiency rating of his career – 32, and also grabbed 12 rebounds. His best offensive performance was seen against Khimki when he scored 25 points.
After leaving Crvena Zvezda, his career took a significant downturn. Unsuccessful stints with Maccabi Tel Aviv, as well as in Bamberg, led him to Puerto Rico. He also played in Portugal, then in Uruguay, before settling in Japan for the last two seasons. Today, he plays for Toyama in the Japanese B League, where he averages 15.6 points and seven rebounds.
