Denver Nuggets point guard Reggie Jackson will no longer wear that team’s jersey, as he was traded, reports ESPN.
Jackson will continue his career with the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for three unprotected second-round picks to open up cap space for the Colorado team.
Now, the Denver Nuggets will have to deal with finding a replacement, given that they lost one of their main players off the bench. They could also be without Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who chose to become a free agent.
Jackson was one of the more important factors in the championship season of the Denver Nuggets, when they won the title in 2023.
Last season, he averaged 10.2 points and 3.8 assists, but Nikola Jokic’s team couldn’t get past the semifinals of the Western Conference and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
He played all 82 games, during which he replaced the injured starter Jamal Murray in 23 duels, who agreed on an extension of cooperation.
Now the backcourt of the Charlotte Hornets is strengthened, while the return of the injured LaMel Ball is expected.
The same team picked sixth overall in the recent NBA draft and selected Tidjane Salaun from France, in whom they will invest in the future.
