Rick Carlisle, the head coach of the Indiana Pacers, spoke at a press conference after his team’s win over the New York Knicks.
A great result for the Indiana Pacers. It seemed like this could be their last game in this season’s NBA playoffs. However, for who knows how many times this season, they played an excellent game on both ends of the court and, thanks to their focus, achieved a double-digit lead. Head coach Rick Carlisle was also pleased with the aggressiveness and what he saw.
“I thought Game 5 was our least aggressive game in the playoffs. We played hard tonight, which was a must. They came out really hard tonight, which was evident, but we moved the ball better, we got more rebounds and that’s obviously been a big part in this series.
It’s the ultimate game and it’s a great opportunity. Other than Pascal and maybe James Johnson, I’m not sure if any of our guys have been in a Game 7. But this team has been through a lot of new experiences in the last 3 1/2 weeks and this will be another new experience. So we’ll do everything possible to get them ready“, Carlisle said.
The final and deciding game will be played on Sunday at 21:30, and the winner will secure a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics.
