Roger Grimau spoke about the health of his players and the Crvena Zvezda team in the preview of the seventh round of the EuroLeague.
The promising coach of the Catalan team had good news for his fans, as Barcelona will host the Red-Whites with a full roster.
“Rokas Jokubaitis and Nicolas Laprovittola trained normally. They are over 90% ready to play, especially Laprovittola, who has spent the last two weeks off the court,” Roger Grimau said. He then commented on the upcoming opponent:
“Crvena Zvezda is a tough opponent, they have big players, especially at the point guard position, where we’re talking about two different profiles. Shabazz Napier and Yago Dos Santos are extremely dangerous in one-on-one play, and the entire team must be cautious of that. We all know Milos Teodosic, he can put the ball wherever he wants and make difficult shots.”
“You also have good players who complement them. Rokas Giedraitis shoots well and plays off the ball, and there are power forwards who can play at the five. The big men are capable of doing various things for them.”
The Catalans are on a good streak of results, and Grimau hopes that it will continue against Crvena Zvezda.
“We come with self-confidence and a strong desire to play in Blaugrana. We expect to be consistent throughout the year, maintain our level, improve, it’s a long journey. The EuroLeague is already quite balanced, but with the play-in, it becomes even tougher. Additional positions give teams new goals; everyone will fight, and very few will be eliminated early from the race.”
The match between Barcelona and Crvena Zvezda is scheduled for Friday at 20:30 (Blaugrana).
