Barcelona’s head coach, Roger Grimau, emphasized that his team must not get too carried away after a very strong start in the EuroLeague.
Grimau has led Barcelona to victory in all three of their previous games in the elite competition. In the most recent one, they convincingly outperformed Partizan in Belgrade, demonstrating Barcelona’s excellent form.
“I have a friend who says that you should never soar too high or be too low. The idea is to continue to grow. All of this is a long process. I’m satisfied with this week, but we have to keep moving forward. On the offensive side, we need to continue with ball movement and finding good shooting options. Defensively, we have been very good. It’s not easy to leave Piraeus with only 68 points allowed, as well as 73 against Gran Canaria. What pleases me the most is the response we have in tough moments,” said Grimau.
Now, Barcelona faces a new challenge: to continue with the same form against Bayern. The Catalan team’s strategist shares something in common with his rival on the opposing bench.
“Pablo Laso was my teammate in Lleida. We spent a short time there, just a few months. He is the epitome for all coaches. It’s not enough to mention what he has won but also the way Real Madrid played under his leadership. Bayern plays very physically, with many players who can score,” emphasized Roger Grimau.
The match between Barcelona and Bayern is scheduled for Friday at 8:30 PM in Barcelona.
