Barcelona head coach Roger Grimau spoke after the game against Real Madrid in the Endesa League’s third semifinal match.
Grimau tried to reduce the deficit against the “royal club,” but his team was way overwhelmed instead and got swept.
“The season is over, we are eliminated. We put in a great effort, but we couldn’t succeed. It’s tough; they scored a lot of points, found easy baskets. They punished everything we did wrong. Jan Vesely’s ejection? That makes a difference, especially when it happens in the second quarter. I don’t know if it was unsportsmanlike, and a technical? Too much for the third game in Blaugrana,” Roger Grimau said.
“I have always felt the support of the club. Obviously, I’m not an idiot, the season was not good. We’ll see what happens.”
“It had to be like this. I wanted Pauli in the team.”
“You understand how emotionally attached I am to this club. Failure happened, but it also did when I played. That’s it. Tomorrow I will wake up and move on. I’m more inclined to self-examine now, to see what I could have done differently. Currently, my head is hot, I need time,” Grimau concluded.
Real Madrid will face the winner of the Unicaja – Murcia series (1-2) in the final.
