Roger Grimau, the head coach of Barcelona, spoke after the victory against Valencia with a score of 74:70 in the ninth round of the EuroLeague.
Grimau explained that this win meant a lot to his team, especially after the clear defeat they suffered last Wednesday in Vitoria against Baskonia (94-71).
“What pleases me the most is the fact that we reacted. We weren’t brilliant, but we were dedicated. After a tough loss, you never know how the team will react. The team’s reaction was spectacular.
There are games where shots don’t fall, in this game, we moved the ball very well and had several wide-open three-pointers, and in the end, we made two crucial ones. It lasts for days, there are days when you make them like hotcakes and others when it seems like there’s a lid,” said Roger Grimau.
Head coach of Barcelona believes that Jan Vesely, who scored 17 points in 22 minutes, was the key player.
“Very good, everyone already knows that he is very good, but not only that. He is there for everyone, on a tactical level, because of his dedication, his commitment… He is an outstanding player.”
About Nikola Kalinic, who scored seven points and had six rebounds
“He is a player that every coach would like to have. He is a super intelligent player, can defend or attack, dedicated and involved. Whether he’s playing well or not, he always gives you peace. He is an impressive player.”
