Barcelona coach Roger Grimau spoke after the game against Zalgiris, focusing on the EuroLeague and the 16th round.
Grimau aimed to get back on the winning track after a series of subpar performances recently and continue the race towards the top. He succeeded in doing so by outplaying the Lithuanian team in a suspenseful finish.
“We played offensively well in the first half, not so poorly defensively. Perhaps we could have defended better, but in the end, they were getting offensive rebounds, punishing us with shots. In the second half, we built the victory on defense. They scored only 13 points in the last 15 points, and it was the team defense that allowed us to win,” said Grimau.
“He is a legend, both as a player and as a coach. He commands the respect of all Barcelona fans, including myself. That’s it. An excellent, great coach, but now we are in a different era, and I am just trying to give my 100% to ensure Barcelona keeps winning. Rokas Jokubaitis? He came from the World Cup, had some issues with fatigue and form afterward. I am pleased with what he is doing in training and games, and he will undoubtedly be very important for us,” conveyed Grimau.
