Roger Grimau, in the preview of the eighth round of the EuroLeague, spoke about the match his team will play against Baskonia.
The Spanish coach emphasized that his team is up against an exceptionally good opponent, with a focus on the first star of the team, Markus Howard.
“Baskonia is full of players capable of scoring a large number of points from different positions, and they also have excellent shooters. We must do everything to take Markus Howard out of the comfort zone. He is capable of scoring even when two defenders are guarding him,” said Roger Grimau, adding:
“They are a complete team, their players have great quality, so it’s dangerous to solely focus on Howard. Their players are dangerous at all positions.”
Roger Grimau also spoke about Dusko Ivanovic, who, with Baskonia, has recorded two wins in the last two rounds.
“You can already see the style of play he wants to implement. They have been playing well lately, securing two wins. I respect Ivanovic from his time at Barcelona,” said Grimau.
In the end, he commented on the health condition of his team.
“In Vitoria, there is always a great atmosphere, and the EuroLeague motivates players. We go for the away game only without Michael Caicedo. I would emphasize that I believe Jabari Parker will continue to deliver good performances. The dynamics suit him, and he is aware that there will be different moments. He feels good and understands the game concept, as you could see in the previous weeks.”
Baskonia and Barcelona will play the eighth-round EuroLeague match on Wednesday at 8:30 PM.
