Rokas Giedraitis, a basketball player for Crvena Zvezda, spoke to TV Arena Sport and recalled his debut in the jersey of the new team in the match against Asvel in the first round of the EuroLeague.
The Lithuanian shooter reminisced about the moments before the match with Asvel in the “Stark Arena” and vividly described the emotional state he was in.
“I won’t lie, I’ll be honest. I remember the first home game against Asvel. Before the start of the match, the fans started singing, and at that moment, I started shaking. I’m serious.
I was shaking until the start of the game, until the referee threw the ball up. I was a bit stressed at the beginning. I admit,” said Rokas Giedraitis and added:
“I played against Crvena Zvezda before, but never for Crvena Zvezda. It’s better to play for Crvena Zvezda. Playing for Crvena Zvezda is more fun, and the fans are amazing, really incredible. I don’t know how to explain this, but they give you extra strength, energy.
They are the sixth player on the court. They motivate you to give 100% in every game,” the Lithuanian concluded.
Giedraitis will have a new opportunity to play in front of the Crvena Zvezda fans on Friday when his team hosts Anadolu Efes.
