Rostock pulled off a major upset in the tenth round of the Bundesliga by defeating the champion Ulm on the road with a score of 107-89.
The visitors had a strong start, taking a 7-0 lead at the beginning. Towards the end of the first quarter, they held a double-digit advantage. Ulm improved significantly in the second period, managing to make a comeback at one point but went into halftime trailing by three points.
In the third quarter, Rostock managed to extend their lead to double digits. Ulm didn’t give up and tried to get back into the game, but ultimately, they suffered a defeat.
Derrick Alston led Rostock to win with 24 points, while Karim Jallow had 20 points on the other side.
Current vice-champion Bonn secured an away win by defeating Braunschweig 102-94.
The first quarter hinted that this would be a high-scoring game. After ten minutes, the visitors had a two-point lead. In the second period, Bonn had a lead of up to nine points several times, going into halftime with a 60-55 advantage. In the continuation of the game, the current vice-champion easily maintained their lead, fending off all Braunschweig’s attempts and securing the win.
Harald Frey led his team to win with 26 points, while TJ Crockett on the other side had 24 points.
Chemnitz continued their impressive run, achieving their ninth win in ten games by defeating Oldenburg 79-58. Wesley Van Beck guided his team to triumph with 26 points, while DeWayne Russell led Oldenburg with 20 points.
