Rytas opened the season in the domestic championship with a triumphant victory, defeating Pieno Zvaigzdes at home with a score of 106-90.
Rytas started the game stronger and took an 8-1 lead. They maintained their lead throughout the first quarter. In the second period, the home team played even better. The visitors couldn’t defend effectively, and they went into halftime trailing by 15 points.
Any doubts about the winner were dispelled by Rytas’ players in the third quarter. With excellent play on both ends of the court, they built a 23-point lead. In the final period, Pieno Zvaigzdes managed to narrow the deficit, but it wasn’t enough.
Gytis Masiulis led his team to victory with 21 points, while Robert Cole added 18. On the other side, Brandon Tabb was the top performer with 21 points, and Jordan Watson contributed 20.
In the second game of the day, Juventus defeated Maziekiai 81-74 at home.
Juventus had an excellent first ten minutes, building a 13-point lead. However, Maziekiai didn’t give up easily. They managed to make a comeback and take an eight-point lead in the third quarter. Nevertheless, the visitors faltered in the final ten minutes, allowing the home team to complete a comeback and secure the victory.
Billy Ivey led his team to victory with 17 points, while on the other side, Kay Bruhnke was the top performer with 17 points as well.
