Rytas continues its impressive performances in the Lithuanian Basketball League. In the third round, they secured a 98-82 victory as the visiting team against Gargzdai, marking their third win of the season.
The guests had an excellent start to the game, taking an 8-0 lead right from the beginning. By the end of the first quarter, Gargzdai found a strong offensive rhythm and managed to equalize. The home team stayed in the game until the end of the first half, when Rytas pulled away to establish a nine-point lead.
Throughout the third quarter, Rytas consistently held a double-digit advantage. The home team didn’t allow the visitors to break away, but they couldn’t reduce the deficit to single digits. As the game came to a close, the guests maintained control and secured the victory.
Robert Cole led his team to victory with 20 points, while Julius Jucikas was the top performer on the other side with 18 points.
Zalgiris claims another victory with a 78-68 win over Pieno Zvaigzdes on their home court.
This was a challenging match for the reigning champion, as Pieno Zvaigzdes put up a strong fight. The visiting team held the lead for most of the game and entered the final ten minutes with a five-point advantage. However, the greater individual quality of Zalgiris came to the forefront. Zalgiris won the final period 22-7, securing the victory.
Danielius Lavrinovicius led his team to victory with 16 points, while Brandon Tabb was the top performer on the opposing side with 26 points.
