Lietkabelis, led by Serbian coach Nenad Canak from the bench, lost in the Lithuanian championship derby against Rytas by 113:100.
Rytas thus achieved their 20th victory of the season and holds the second position, while Lietkabelis suffered their third consecutive defeat and their 11th overall this season, currently occupying the fifth position.
Rytas played excellently in the first half, especially in the offensive aspect, leading 69:46 after 20 minutes. However, they were not as successful in the second half, allowing the guests to gradually reduce the lead step by step.
At the beginning of the final quarter, the score was 94-91 in favor of the hosts, and it seemed like a big turnaround was imminent with a 12:3 run by the visiting team. However, the home team rallied and thwarted the attack, successfully steering the game towards a favorable outcome.
Margiris Normantas led the winners with 27 points, while Javin DeLaurier and Justin Gorham contributed 14 points each. On the other side, Paulius Valinskas was the top scorer with 17 points, followed by Deividas Servyidis with 16 points, and Djordje Gagic with 13 points and seven rebounds.
