In the realm of San Antonio Spurs trade rumors, there’s a clear delineation: Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vassell are the sacred cows.
Victor Wembanyama’s presence in San Antonio has infused a new level of intrigue into the team dynamics. Despite the Spurs’ playoff drought spanning half a decade, the organization is resolute in its aspiration to rise as a formidable force next season.
As per insights from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony, the Spurs are adopting a “win-now” mindset, leaving no stone unturned except when it comes to dealing Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vassell.
“Everything I hear is that they want to be competitive next year, they want to be in the NBA playoffs. They’re not looking to make this a 2-3 year process, where they’re in the lottery again next year. For right now, they want to be competitive next year and that’s why I think they’re going to be aggressive with those picks,” Givony said.
“I’ve heard nobody in the roster is untouchable except Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vassell.”
Givony also noted the palpable allure Wembanyama exerts on fellow players across the league, labeling him as a generational talent.
“Every free agent, every veteran guard, they all want to play with Victor Wembanyama,” he said.
