Sarunas Jasikevicius summed up the initial impressions after the Game 5 of the EuroLeague quarterfinal series against Monaco.
Sarunas Jasikevicius didn’t have much to say after his team’s significant, arguably historic triumph, given that until now, the home team always won the fifth game.
“Congratulations to my players and the fans. This series was crazy, every game was played until the last possession, absolute madness. The games were decided by a possession or two, in the end…
The players understood that they had to put in this much effort. We weren’t perfect today, it was the fifth game in a row, and in the end, it came down to whether Monaco or Fenerbahce would advance, and the ball decided it would be Fenerbahce.”
The Lithuanian coach didn’t want to talk too much about the Final Four in Berlin.
“It’s not the moment to talk about Berlin; the players have left their hearts and souls here, so it’s really time for them to celebrate a bit. We’re happy, and we can’t wait for the Final Four.”
