Sasa Obradovic, coach of Monaco, has shared his expectations ahead of the seventh round of the EuroLeague, in which Monaco will face Asvel.
The home team guard, Mathew Strazel, said:
“It’s a different match against a team that is on a different dynamic, with a new coach and new systems. We have a psychological advantage, but that doesn’t mean much. We will have to redouble our efforts and stay focused. The results speak for us; we are above, but it can quickly change. They play differently, focus more on post-ups, and we’ve worked on that. ASVEL is playing at a faster pace. It’s always special to play against them, but it’s just another game.”
One of the best defenders in the EuroLeague, Alpha Diallo, said:
“ASVEL is back in confidence; they have a very solid roster. We are excited to continue our winning streak in front of our fans; it’s a great opportunity for us. The ongoing 6-0 record against them? Every game is different, there’s a new coach, which can impact the mental aspect. We need to focus on our game, on how to have the best possible match. We need to continue our momentum; we had a great summer preparation, and we have to keep reaping the benefits. We hope to put on a great performance; we know our fans are eagerly anticipating the matchups with ASVEL.”
