Sasa Obradovic shared his impressions after Monaco’s loss against Real Madrid in the EuroLeague round 22nd.
Monaco played an impressive game from the very beginning. They imposed their rhythm and capitalized on the fact that Walter Tavares was not in Real Madrid’s lineup. Several times, they led by as much as 29 points before ultimately securing a win with a score of 98-76.
The impressive Mike James finished the game with 15 points, 13 assists, five rebounds, and even five steals, resulting in an efficiency index rating of 32.
“I didn’t mention him because in every game, you ask me about him. We’ve seen how much he brings cohesion to this team. Mike James is currently the best player in his position in the EuroLeague. He could contend for the MVP title if he stays healthy. He did everything, defended, played on both ends.
This win is not the start of the second part of the season. There are still many games ahead. A game like this helps build confidence, rediscover our chemistry from past seasons. That’s what will enable us to achieve similar results.”
I dedicate this game and the win to my very good friend, Dejan Milojevic
Sasa Obradovic then dedicated this win to Dejan Milojevic whom passed away two days ago.
“This was a brilliant sin. We played as a team at a high level for the entire 40 minutes. I dedicate this game and the win to my very good friend, Dejan Milojevic, who passed away unexpectedly and I continue to reflect on it, and my thoughts are with him and his family. I cannot be overly happy. It’s not about this game at all. It’s a huge loss for his family, friends, and for Serbian basketball,” said Sasa Obradovic.
This game marked a new club record in the EuroLeague for Monaco. They recorded an impressive 26 team assists
Monaco will be visiting Anadolu Efes in the EuroLeague Round 23rd. Real Madrid will host Olympiacos.
