Sasa Obradovic summed up the initial impressions after the Game 5 of the EuroLeague quarterfinal series against Fenerbahce.
The Serbian coach was visibly upset by the defeat in the Principality.
“Congratulations to Fenerbahce on the win. We had the opportunity to finish an incredible season by reaching the EuroLeague Final Four. Fifth games are always a lottery, it doesn’t matter if you have home-court advantage.
Honestly, it’s a bitter feeling after everything. We lacked some good decisions on offense and defense. Nick Calathes isn’t the best shooter, but he hit the most important shots,” said Sasa Obradovic, before adding:
“It’s hard to find the right words to describe all of this. We promote basketball in the best possible way in Monaco, but we didn’t finish the season quite as we expected. I have nothing but praise for my players; they fought until the end, which is what you want as a coach. It’s all part of the game; this is how you grow and progress. I hope the players have learned something from this, as well as the rest of us.”
So far, Real Madrid, Panathinaikos, and Fenerbahce have secured their spots in the Euroleague Final Four in Berlin.
