Serbia will participate in the Olympic Games next year in Paris. This confirmation came after Canada defeated Slovenia.
In addition to defeating Slovenia, Canada secured Serbia’s direct qualification for the Olympic Games. Just a reminder, the two highest-placed European teams earned a spot in Paris next year.
Joining Serbia from Europe, Germany also secured direct qualification by defeating Latvia in an exciting quarterfinal match today. From the North American continent, the teams representing the USA and Canada will participate.

Australia will represent Oceania, Japan from Asia (which hosted the previous Olympic Games), and South Sudan, the pleasant surprise of this year’s FIBA World Cup, secured direct qualification.
As the host nation, France completes the list of participants, and alongside the mentioned teams, four more teams will attempt to secure their spot in Paris through qualification tournaments.
Serbia will compete in the Olympics for the first time since 2016 when they won a silver medal. The Paris Games are scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 11 next year.
