Nikola Jokic has won his third MVP award, and one of those who disagrees with that decision is Shaquille O’Neal.
It’s a significant achivement for the Serbian player. Jokic has joined the elite group of players with three or more NBA MVP awards, thanks to his truly excellent season. The twenty-nine-year-old player won the award ahead of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic. After expressing how pleased and happy he is about the award, Shaquille O’Neal entered the conversation, stating that he believes the player from the Oklahoma City Thunder deserved the award.
“You know I love you. You’re the best player in the league. I want to congratulate you. But I want you to hear it from me first. I thought that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander should have been the MVP that’s no disrespect to you“, O’Neal said.
Jokic responded by saying: “We don’t judge people here, that’s fine it’s your opinion.”
Jokic ranked 10th in the NBA in points in the 2023/24 regular season, fourth in rebounds and third in assists per game. He became only the second player in NBA history to have at least 2,000 points, 900 rebounds and 700 assists in a season, alongside Oscar Robertson (1961-62). He earned 79 of 99 first-place votes for the award.

Shaq showed how jealous he is of Jokic since he (Shaq) won MVP only once. So sad!!!!!
