Sito Alonso, head coach of Murcia, spoke after his team secured third place in the FIBA Champions League by defeating Peristeri.
The Spanish expert first joked about Joe Ragland, who began his career with Murcia. Then he extensively discussed the game.
“I have to start by joking about Joe Ragland. He started his career in Murcia. He played for us, and we have something special. We signed great players. You saw that Peristeri has great players too. I liked how they played. We dominated for 30 minutes. It was similar to the game against Unicaja. Both teams didn’t make any threes in the first 20 minutes.
That’s very difficult to achieve. We kept our focus at the end and didn’t let them come back. What happened two days ago happened, but I can’t lie, I’m happy, primarily for the fans and the president. We need to work on all of this. Last year, we reached the quarterfinals, and then we made it to the Final Four. We want to replicate Unicaja and be at the Final Four next year,” Sito Alonso elaborated.
