An unfortunate incident occurred in the second half when Toko Shengelia fell over Jaka Blažič, who had returned to the locker room. After that, the Slovenians went on a 7-0 run led by Luka Doncic. Gregor Hrovat’s timely three-pointers played a decisive role, and the NBA star was relentless until the end of the game.
Of course, the standout player was Doncic, who achieved a double-double with 34 points and 10 rebounds. He was followed by Klemen Prepelic with 15 points. Sandro Mamukelashvili shone for Georgia, scoring 21 points and grabbing seven rebounds.
In the final round of the FIBA World Cup, Slovenia will play against Cape Verde, while Georgia will compete against Venezuela for a chance to advance.
