South Sudan beat China with 89:69, in the second round of Group B, when it comes to the FIBA World Cup.
South Sudan opened the game with excellent shooting and managed to impose themselves at the start. Not enough, as Kyle Anderson woke up and was one of the most tired that China held the plug. It didn’t seem like it would be like that, when South Sudan gained a double-digit lead in the second quarter on the wings of superb precision from a distance, but the Asian team significantly reduced the deficit and was at minus four at halftime.
China played more aggressively at the beginning of the third quarter. Anderson continued to play well and as a result the deficit was only half a basket. And once again the onslaught of China was repelled by opponent, again with three-point shots. That was enough to leave China without a solution and a chance to win.
The most efficent for the winners were Carlik Jones with 21 and Nuni Omot with 14 points, while the losers were led by Anderson with 22 and Rui Zhao with 13 points.
In the next round, South Sudan plays against Serbia, and China against Puerto Rico.
