In the third round of the Second ABA League, Spartak defeated Borac from Banja Luka and remained undefeated in the regional competition.
Borac had a better start to the game, creating a 7-0 run, but then Spartak responded with six consecutive points. With Rados Seslija leading the way, the team from Banja Luka managed to gain a seven-point advantage, which Spartak significantly reduced by the end of the first quarter – 15:13.
A crucial moment in the match occurred at the beginning of the second quarter when Spartak made a 16-2 run, taking a significant lead of 12 points (34-22). With Jarod West leading the way, the team from Banja Luka managed to reduce the deficit by the end of the first half to a manageable six points – 37:31.
The third quarter played out mainly in a ‘basket for basket’ rhythm, but Vladimir Jovanovic’s players found a slightly better rhythm, ultimately restoring a double-digit lead before the last 10 minutes – 62:51. The main contributors to this outcome were Filip Barna and Marko Tejic.
With good moves by Amsel Delalic, Borac showed resilience, managing to stay in a relatively equal score as much as possible. However, in the end, the Subotica team secured the victory with a 6-0 run, sealing their third triumph in the new season of the Second ABA League.
The most efficient player for Spartak was Filip Barna with 20 points, while Jarod West stood out for Borac with 19.
Spartak is currently the leader in the Second ABA League with a 3-0 record, while Borac suffered its first loss (1-2).
In the next round, Spartak will face Podgorica, while Borac will compete against Sencur.
