Milano defeated Reggiana by 72:68 in Round 27 of the Serie A.
The opening 10 minutes were completely dominated by the visitors, who took that part of the game with a score of 24:11. It seemed they were heading towards an easy win, primarily because their defense was effective, but the second quarter hinted that it might not be so.
Reggiana woke up, managed to reduce the deficit, and went into halftime trailing by a reasonable eight points, keeping the hope alive for an upset.
This hope was briefly dashed by Ettore Messina‘s team in the third quarter when they returned to a double-digit lead, but the match unexpectedly turned into a drama.
With a 16:3 run, Reggiana came within just two points, completely complicating the proceedings on the court. However, the visiting team eventually weathered the opponent’s surge and emerged victorious despite significant fluctuations.
The main contributors to this win were Stefano Tonut with 19 points and Nikola Mirotic with 18 points, while Langston Galloway scored 17 for the defeated team. Shabazz Napier finished the game with two points for Milano.
