Stefano Tonut has signed a 2-year contract extension with the Milano, securing his place on the team until the end of the 2025-26 season.
This news comes as a significant boost for the club, which values Tonut’s contributions both on and off the court.
Last season, the 30-year-old Italian guard demonstrated his skills in the EuroLeague, where he played 29 games. Tonut averaged 5.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game, achieving a PIR of 5.9. His steady performance has been a crucial component of Milano’s competitive edge in the league.
Since joining Olimpia Milan in 2022, Stefano Tonut has helped the team secure significant wins. He has been part of the squad that won two Serie A titles in 2023 and 2024, as well as an Italian Cup in 2024. His presence on the team has undeniably contributed to these triumphs, highlighting his value as a player.
In addition to his club commitments, Stefano Tonut is also set to represent Italy in the upcoming Olympic qualifying tournament. The Italian national team will face Latvia and Bahrain in their group, while the other group features Lithuania, Mexico, and Ivory Coast. Only the winner of the tournament will secure a spot in the Olympics, joining a group that includes the USA, Serbia, and South Sudan.
